Portia Wong (Development and Special Events Manager) – Portia Wong is thrilled to join Palo Alto Players as its Development Manager.

With four generations of family in the theatre business, Portia has spent many years in theaters up and down the East Coast! For the last four years, Portia worked as an Editor at a scientific publishing house in New York City, before moving to Palo Alto with her husband, a graduate student at Stanford University. Her non-profit work has most notably included the Vendy Awards in New York (a fundraising event to support the Street Vendor Project of the Urban Justice Center) and she also works with Gamble Gardens (right here in Palo Alto!) on their annual Spring Tour event.

Portia graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, with a degree in Geology and a minor in Art History. She is a Certified Barbecue Judge with the Kansas City Barbecue Society, and her favorite productions include A Little Night Music, Carousel, Herringbone, Sweeney Todd, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.

Portia is excited to join such a dynamic and historic theatre, and looks forward to getting to know the community better at Palo Alto Players events!
