Disney's TARZAN®

Book by David Henry Hwang

Music and Lyrics by Phil Collins

Based on the story, Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and the Disney film, Tarzan

Directed by Patrick Klein

Choreographed by Claire Alexander

Music Direction by Nick Kenrick

Washed up on the shores of West Africa, an infant boy is taken in and raised by gorillas who name him Tarzan.  Apart from striving for acceptance from his ape father, Tarzan's life is mostly monkey business until a human expedition treks into his tribe's territory and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time.  Tarzan struggles to navigate a jungle thick with emotion as he discovers his animal upbringing clashing with his human instincts.  Based on Disney's unforgettable animated musical adventure and Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan of the Apes, TARZAN® features heart-pumping music by rock legend Phil Collins and a book by TONY Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang.  Swinging excitement and hits like the Academy Award winning "You'll Be In My Heart" as well as "Son of Man" and "Two Worlds" make TARZAN® an unforgettable experience for all ages.

Approximate Running Time: TBD

Parking Advisory: *Please Note: During Disney’s TARZAN, the Junior Museum and Zoo Construction Project happening next to the Lucie Stern Theater will be underway.  What this means is the current parking lot has been reduced to less than 30 parking spaces and is only accessible from the Hopkins Ave entrance, as the Middlefield entrance is being used for construction traffic.  As such, we recommend giving yourself at least an extra 20 minutes when traveling to the Lucie Stern Theater, as you may need to access street parking and walk a little bit further than normal to reach the theatre.  We’d also recommend carpooling or ridesharing (Lyft or Uber) as much as possible!  We will update you with further information as we receive it.

All performances are held at the:

Lucie Stern Theater

1305 Middlefield Road

Palo Alto, CA 94301

In cooperation with the City of Palo Alto, Community Services Department, Division of Arts and Sciences
