Nikolaj Sorensen (Technical Director/Production Manager) - Nikolaj is a Palo Alto native and Gunn High School graduate who couldn't be more excited to be a part of the Palo Alto Players team. He recently graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Theater and completed a Theater Management Module, focused on arts administration and digital content strategy. While at Northwestern he worked on several dozen productions as a set designer, stage manager, and technical director for various student theater groups as well as for the Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts. He has completed stage management internships with both TheatreWorks and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, as a member of the FAIR program. Nikolaj is committed to diversity and accessibility in the arts, and hopes to use his new position to create and sustain more opportunities for emerging artists whose identities are currently underrepresented in the field. He is a committee member of the Jubilee, a national invitation to the American theater community to produce a 2020/21 season entirely featuring works written by women, people of color, queer artists, Native American artists, and artists with disabilities, in the hopes of celebrating the diversity of America while forming new and lasting relationships between these artists and the theater establishment.
